News

Thanks to support from the Big Lottery and our sponsors Coventry Bears, Tesco (Canley) and The Royal Bengal in Earlsdon we will be launching a prize-winning poster competition on Monday 5th February as part of a citywide public awareness campaign, highlighting the safety issues of inconsiderate parking to everyone who uses the pavements.

Everyone is welcome to take part in the prize-winning poster competition, making people think twice before parking their cars inconsiderately. Many of the students here at Hereward are wheelchair users and often have no choice but to go into the road when vehicles are parked on the pavement.

The launch event will be attended by Alan Robinson, Chief Executive of Coventry Bears along with Big Blue, and local ward councillors.

Poster entries must be saved as a jpeg or hi res pdf file (A3) and emailed to hppc.coventry@gmail.com by 23rd March. They will be judged in three categories, Under 12 year olds, 13 -18 year olds and people who are 18+. Winners will be announced on 2nd April and their posters will be used to promote considerate parking at range of venues across the City and on various social media sites.

Coventry City Council and BBC Coventry and Warwickshire are endorsing our campaign and if any other individuals, organisations or businesses who would like to be involved or support in any way please contact the students on hppc.coventry@gmail.com or via twitter @HPPCampaign #THINKbeforeyoupark.
